    Your First Visit

You should allow 30-45 minutes for this visit. The purpose of your initial consultation with our chiropractor is to discuss your concerns, what you want from your health and to see if chiropractic can help you.

The first thing we will do is ask you about the health complaints that are concerning you. We would like to get to know you, your health history and find out as much information that will help us go about managing your health.

A thorough examination of your whole spine includes orthopaedic, neurological, physical and chiropractic examinations. These tests allow us to accurately identify your problems and they will give us the information needed to provide you with the best possible chiropractic care. If needed, X-rays of the spine can be organised at this point.

Our commitment is that if for whatever reason we don’t think we can help, we will let you know and do our best to find you someone who can.

    Regular Adjustment Visits

Allow up to 15 minutes. The frequency and duration of your care varies between every individual. Every person and case is different, however you can expect results like less aches and pains and better balance.

Depending on how severe or long standing certain problems are will determine your progress. We will do our best to give you every opportunity to recover as quickly as possible.

Many people choose to use their care as maintenance on an ongoing basis after any initial problems have healed. How you choose to use your care is up to you, we are here to support you and provide the best natural health options and information possible.

    Frequently Asked Questions

How long will it take for me to get better?
Chiropractic results will vary from person to person. Some patients will get results soon after commencing treatment, others find recovery takes several months or longer depending on the initial complaint. Children often respond quickly, whilst adults will more slowly.

    What qualifications do Chiropractors have?
Today’s chiropractor is a highly educated professional. Chiropractic training in Australia involves five year courses at Sydney’s Macquarie University, Melbourne’s RMIT University Perth’s Murdoch University and Mackay’s Central Queensland University (CQU). Many Australian chiropractors received similar education in the US or Europe.

These courses are of similar length and depth as medical courses, but focus on promoting better health via better body function, rather than on medicines, drugs and surgery. Accordingly, chiropractic education involves a special emphasis on anatomy, physiology, pathology, neurology, biomechanics, X-ray, spinal adjusting techniques and related subjects.

A chiropractor’s education never ends. After entering practice, most doctors complete continuing professional development courses and seminars to upgrade and improve their skills and to stay current on the latest scientific research.

What can I do at home between appointments?

Strengthen your spine: Specific exercises may be recommended by your chiropractor for muscles that support your spine to assist treatment.

Lift with your legs: Keep your back straight and the load close to the body, as you lift with your legs. Improper lifting can invite a relapse.

Avoid extreme bending: Use caution when bending or working overhead. Avoid sudden twists and turns.

Get adequate rest: Proper rest is an important element of the healing process. Use a mattress that offers firm support and avoid sleeping on your stomach.

Ask questions: Understanding your condition and the treatment process is important to assist recovery. We welcome your questions relating to your spinal care.

Keep appointments: Those that take responsibility for their health generally get faster relief and better results. Your chiropractor has scheduled your care according to your individual needs. Try to avoid changes to a schedule of care without first discussing them with your chiropractor.

Refer others: Share your chiropractic experience with others. Explain that proper spinal and nervous system function are interrelated and influence our overall feeling of well-being.
